Application Procedures
The application process consists of the following:
- You need to submit an Application form, Physical Examination form and two half-length photos (3cmx4cm).
- A reply will be sent as soon as possible by the school on receipt of the above materials. The Admission Notice, the Application for Entry Form (JW202) and Physical Examination Form will be sent to the enrolled applicants, who can then apply for an entry visa to China by presenting the above-mentioned documents, passport and the Physical Examination Records to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate.
Visas
You must arrange a visa before leaving for China. Please note that Consular and Visa Office hours are between 09:00am and 12:00pm from Monday to Friday. See below the address of the Chinese Consulate in Edinburgh.

Accommodation
You can either stay in a hall of residence or rent a room with a local family. The latter allows you to fully inmerse yourself in Chinese culture, exposing you to aspects of daily life within a Chinese household, all of which will enrich your overall experience and help your language proficiency. Typically, in the past Edinburgh students have done homestays.
All homestays are around the university campus and within walking distance from your school. The halls of residence are within campus.
