UG and PG Degrees in Chinese, Japanese and Sanskrit

We are the only university in Scotland to offer UG programmes in Chinese and Japanese. In both cases we provide single and joint honours degrees. These include language teaching, content courses and a full year spent abroad for single honours and six months to a year for joint honours in partner universities in Japan and China. The courses cover a wide range of topics in premodern and modern history, literature and culture as well as contemporary society and politics.

We offer a variety of one-year and two-year taught programmes, targeting both students with or without prior knowledge of Chinese or Japanese language and/or culture. Currently, all of our two-year programmes include six months of study at prestigious universities abroad.
