Continuing Professional Development for teachers

cpd

Over the last two years, the Alwaleed Centre has delivered a number of twilight CPD sessions to teachers in and around Edinburgh and further afield. Sessions provide teachers with an opportunity to clarify any questions they might have about Islam and provide helpful ideas and resources for teaching Islam in Scottish schools.

CPD sessions can be tailored to suit the needs of a particular school or local authority and are delivered at no cost.

The Alwaleed Centre is a registered provider with CPD Scotland and we look forward to connecting with schools across Scotland over the coming years.

Please follow the link below to see a list of topics we can cover with teachers. This list was prepared for Edinburgh teachers but we can offer any of the topics to teachers anywhere in Scotland.

If you would like to organise a CPD session for your school or local authority, please contact the Alwaleed Centre's Outreach Projects Manager, Tom Lea:

Continuing Professional Development for Scottish Police

In 2012/13 the Alwaleed Centre will deliver a series of six CPD sessions for police officers in Scotland. The sessions will explore Islam in a local and global context with contributions from experts based within the University of Edinburgh's Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies Department.

The first session took place in October 2012 with 70 officers present.
