Overview
This is a 4 day programme to develop your leadership capacity and confidence, through interaction with external leadership specialists and peers from across the University.
Who should attend?
Academics and professional services staff who are currently in headship roles or who may be occupying such roles in the near future and wish to develop their leadership expertise, confidence and skills.
What will I learn?
- Awareness and understanding of leadership and its importance within the University.
- Self-awareness and understanding of how you are perceived by others.
- How to coach staff to enhance performance.
- Enhanced understanding and expertise to lead and sustain change.
- Leadership good practice from across the University.
How long does it last and who takes it?
4 days over 3 months, with a short follow up session 4 months after the final module.
Led by 3 expert leadership facilitators from Impact International, who are global leaders in experiential learning, designing and delivering powerful development programmes.
Format:
- Reflection guided by theoretical and skills inputs.
- Practical projects.
- Feedback and actions to use in work situations.
- Handouts.
Leading and influencing people
Module 1 explores the nature of leadership in the University.
Coaching for performance
Module 2 provides you with skills to discuss and maximise the performance of others
Leading and sustaining change
Module 3 raises your awareness of your reaction to change, as well as that of other people.
Dates and venues
You must be able to attend all three modules. Dates and venues provided for each programme.
