To be eligible for Erasmus funding, placements must meet the following criteria:
British Council English Language Assistants (ELAs) are eligible for Erasmus funding. At present, however, Comenius Assistants (CAs) are not.
It is usually the student’s responsibility to find a placement.
The International Office is not able, at present, to assist in finding or organising work placements although we may be able to give you information about where previous students have been successful in gaining employment.
The following types of organisations are not eligible as host organisations:
Erasmus work placement funding applications for 2013/14 are now open.
Application is online via the link below. Under “Exchange Programme” please select “Erasmus Work Placement”.
Applications will close on 10 January 2014. All students must apply via this system and return a signed Grant Contract before the start of their placement in order to be eligible for funding. If you do not apply for funding and return the required documentation before you depart, you will not be eligible. Please apply as soon as you know the details of your work placement, as priority will be given to early applications in the event that our funding is limited.
Erasmus work placement students receive the same student mobility grant as students on Erasmus study exchanges.
Read the British Council's Work Placements Guide for more information about Erasmus work placements.
