Work placements

If you are undertaking a work placement in Europe as part of your Edinburgh degree programme, it may be possible to apply for funding through the Erasmus programme.

Eligibility

To be eligible for Erasmus funding, placements must meet the following criteria:

British Council English Language Assistants (ELAs) are eligible for Erasmus funding. At present, however, Comenius Assistants (CAs) are not.

Applying for an Erasmus grant

Erasmus work placement funding applications for 2012/13 are no longer being accepted.

If you are considering a work placement in 2013/14, applications will open in May 2013.

Finding a placement

It is usually the student’s responsibility to find a placement.

The International Office is not able, at present, to assist in finding or organising work placements although we may be able to give you information about where previous students have been successful in gaining employment.
