PhD students scoop Physiological Society prizes

Congratulations to Paul Baxter and Clare Puddifoot for winning prizes at the 2011 Physiological Society's Cellular & Integrative Neuroscience Meeting.

Paul is supported by a BBSRC studentship and works in Giles Hardingham's lab. Paul won the prize for best oral communication at the recent Physiological Society's Cellular & Integrative Neuroscience Meeting at King's College. He spoke about novel aspects of signaling from the neuroprotective ligand PACAP.

Clare is supported by a BBSRC studentship and works in Giles Hardingham's and David Wyllie's labs. Clare won 2nd prize for her poster presentation on the functional maturation of neurons derived from human embryonic- and patient-derived pluripotent stem cells, which is work done in collaboration with Siddharthan Chandran's lab.
