PhD students scoop Edinburgh Neuroscience prizes
Many congratulations to Cian O'Donnell and Owen Jeffires for winning the 2010 Edinburgh Neuroscience PhD poster prizes.
Cian, supported by a Neuroinformatics DTG studentship, works with Matt Nolan and Mark van Rossum and presented his computational model of how dendritic spine plasticity can stabilise synaptic weights. Owen Jeffries, supported by a BBSRC DTG studentship works with Mike Shipston and presented his work regarding the role of protein palmitoylation in controlling potassium channel cell surface expression.
Cian and Owen were presented with their prizes by the director of Edinburgh Neuroscience, Professor Peter Sandercock.
