Eligibility and booking instructions
Our Edinburgh Local GRADschool is open to all PhD students from the University of Edinburgh and partner Universities in their final or penultimate year of study, irrespective of how their PhD is funded.

Booking policy:
- The deadline to request a place on a local GRADschool is 3 weeks before the start of the course.
- Allocation of places will focus on providing a mixture of participants from different disciplines as well as reflecting the diversity of our students.
- We expect there to be a very high demand for places and these will be allocated to give a mixture of participants from different disciplines.
Research Councils and Wellcome Trust funded PhD students
If you are funded by any of the UK Research Councils or the Wellcome Trust, or if you have an affiliation with some professional bodies (like the Royal Society of Chemistry) you may also be eligible for a free place on a national GRADschool course. National GRADschools are organised by the Vitae.
PhD students from other Universities
The University of Edinburgh runs local GRADschools in collaboration with partner Universities across Scotland. Students from partner Universities are eligible to attend the local GRADschool. To book your place, please contact us.
