The PGCert AP is available free of charge to all University of Edinburgh staff with teaching responsibilities, or who play a significant role in supporting learning, teaching and assessment.
New teaching staff are expected and encouraged to participate in the orientation and to attend at least two optional courses.
**important note (1 December 2012)**
Arrangements for orientation and academic development support for new academic staff are expected to be reviewed and updated during 2013/14. We have recently been provided with clarification on the expectations and requirements for new staff. The current position is that all new academic staff are expected and encouraged to participate in the two-day orientation to Academic Practice programme and to take part in at least two optional courses.
Experienced staff may enrol in any individual option, participate in the orientation, or to enrol in the full accredited programme.
Currently registered doctoral students and early career research staff at the University of Edinburgh may be eligible if they meet the access criteria.
Alternatively, you may be interested in other development opportunities for tutors and demonstrators.
To register, download and complete the programme registration form, and email it to the address on the form.
University staff will not be charged for this programme.
If you leave the University before completing the programme, you will be expected to self-fund any courses which you take after your contract ends.
