EUscreen, which started as a three year project in 2009 funded by the European Commission, provides free access to over 14,000 items of programme content and complementary contextual information from 17 European countries.
The 36 EUscreen partners include the British Universities Film & Video Council (BUFVC) and Royal Holloway College of the University of London.
It may be accessed for teaching, research or just for general interest.
Its content, from a range of providers across 17 European countries and dating from the 1920s to the present, includes the following topics:
and includes film clips in a range of languages. It is anticipated that there will be around 30,000 digital items available when the project ends in Septembr 2012.
