The University Library can also provide ILL services for registered library borrowers who are not members of the University, and for external institutions.
ILL requests are only made for registered borrowers of Edinburgh University Library. Please note, if you are a registered borrower you will be charged the full ILL rate.
If you are a student from another higher eduction instution, or from a further education institution, please ask library staff at your home institution about the ILL services available to you.
Edinburgh University Library can accept ILLs from other institutions.
Photocopy requests must comply with current copyright regulations, and be of a non-commercial nature. If a photocopy is required for commercial use, please apply directly to the BLDSC.
The fees for such requests are in line with current BLDSC charges and will be claimed through BLDSC at regular intervals.
Send your request, quoting your British Library account number and request number, to the appropriate Library site.
Edinburgh University Library can accept requests from overseas institutions, using the following payment methods:
IFM (through WorldCat Resource Sharing)
If neither of these options is possible, we can accept a Sterling banker's draft payable to The University of Edinburgh and drawn on a bank in the United Kingdom.
