The principal collections of architecture books and some architecture journals are held in the Main Library at George Square.
Standard and short loan books are shelved, together with reference books for the subject, at Library or Congress (LC) classification shelfmarks N and NA.
Older standard and short loan books are located at Dewey shelfmark .72 onwards.

The ECA collection consists of some 85,000 books and more than 300 periodical subscriptions along with videos and DVDs, maps, slides and artists' books.
Following the merger of the ECA with the University on 1st August 2011, the ECA Library is now a site library of Edinburgh University Library, with enhanced opening hours and full access by UoE staff and students to its extensive collections.
ECA staff and students also now have full access to the the range of library and information services at the University.
Contains books on architectural design, architectural theory and practice, architectural history, construction, planning and urban design, technical books, landscape architecture and landscape history, professional practice, presentation techniques, CAAD and digital media.
About 80 current journal titles and CDs, student dissertations and work placement reports are held in the Art & Architecture Library.
