Main Library New Books and Current Journal display

New Books Current Journals display

On the first floor of the Main Library, we have a display of some of our most recently acquired printed books and current print subscription newspapers and journals. You are welcome to browse this selection, consult the newspapers and journals, and borrow the books.

New Books

This is a display of around 300 books, just a selection of the many hundreds of new books the Main library receives each month.

Please feel free to borrow material from this selection.

Books are arranged alphabetically by Library of Congress (LC) Classification. This means that material of related subject matter will be grouped together.

When books are borrowed we add new ones to the display and, when returned the books become part of our permanent collection.

Current Journals

This display is made up of some of the Main Library’s print subscriptions to journals. Titles on display are received monthly or more frequently. On top of this, there are journals, selected with the assistance of the College consultancy teams, which are popular or heavily used.

The journals are arranged by Dewey Decimal sequence from Per. .0 - Per. .9. This means that material of related subject matter will be grouped together.

You can check the Library Catalogue for our other journal holdings, including electronic access journals. Other print journals held in the Main Library are stored on the Lower Ground Floor, including some back issues of the selection displayed here.

Newspapers

Newspaper titles displayed on the first floor represent the full selection of those currently subscribed to, by the Main Library, in print format. What is displayed here is the most recent edition held in the Main Library.

The newspapers are arranged alphabetically by title.

Back issues of some of these titles are available on the Lower Ground Floor. You can also access many electronic copies of newspapers via the Library Catalogue.

Other New Books displays

Many of the other Library Sites have their own New Books or Current Journals displays, which work similarly to that in the Main Library.
