Arts and Humanities Citation Index

Access information:Access on and off-campus.
Description:Part of ISI Web of Knowledge. A multidisciplinary index containing details of every substantive item in 1,200 arts and humanities journals, as well as references to books included in book reviews, and live performances, films, records, and television and radio broadcasts. Contains over 2 million references; abstracts are not included.
Coverage:1975 to date.

Current Digest of the Russian Press

Access information:Access on and off campus.
Description: Founded in 1949, The Current Digest was first published as The Current Digest of the Soviet Press (1949-1991), followed by The Current Digest of the Post-Soviet Press (1992-2010), and now The Current Digest of the Russian Press since January 2011 (from issue No. 3, Vol. 63).
Each week the Current Digest presents a selection of Russian-language press materials, translated into English.
The translations are intended for use in teaching and research. They are therefore presented as documentary materials without elaboration or comment, and state the opinions and views of the original authors, not of the publisher of the journal.

Description:Full-text of doctoral dissertations and master's theses from more than 700 universities worldwide.

Factiva

Access information:Available on campus. Also available via the VPN. Cookies must be enabled on your browser.
Description:Provides business news and information together with Reuters Fundamentals and D&B company profiles. It contains more than 10,000 authoritative sources including The Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, Dow Jones and Reuters newswires. Also includes most world press including UK national and regional press and trade magazines. Content by freelance writers, some features and supplements may not be available.

Index to Theses

Access information:Access on and off-campus.
Description:Indexes theses accepted for higher degrees by the Universities of Great Britain and Ireland, and the Council for National Academic Awards. Abstracts are available for the most recent theses.
Coverage: 1715- present.

Integrum

Access information:On campus access only. Currently, this resource is available on 3 PCs via in the Princess Dahkova Centre.
Description:Integrum offers the largest database of Russian sources: Federal and regional Russian press, TV channels, websites, libraries and databases as well as full texts of classical literature.

JSTOR

Access information:Access on and off-campus.
Description:Full-text journal archive service providing access to complete back runs of all the scholarly journals currently available in JSTOR. Recent volumes are excluded, usually the last 3-5 years, but each year a further year is added to the archive.
Each title is listed in the Library catalogue.
The collections currently available are: Arts & Sciences 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8; Biological Sciences; Health & General Sciences; Ireland. The 19th Century British Pamphlets Collections is also available via JSTOR.

Pravda

Access information:Access on and off campus.
Description:This is the complete full-text and full-image archive of the most important newspaper of the Soviet era. Pravda (or "Truth") was the official voice of Soviet communism and the Central Committee of the Communist Party between 1918 and 1991.
The database is in Russian.
Coverage:1912 - present.

Description:This is Russia's largest reference site, with a unique collection of best Russian encyclopedias, dictionaries and other reference titles and data on a wide range of subjects. The search interface can be switched between Russian and English, but the contents are in Russian only.

Russian Academy of Sciences Bibliographies

Access information:Access on and off campus.
Description:Describes material on the social sciences and humanities published in the Commonwealth of Independent States and Eastern Europe - books, manuscripts, dissertations, and articles from more than 10,000 periodicals. Updated bimonthly.
Coverage:1992 to the present.

Voprosy Literatury

Access Information:On and off campus.
Description:Authoritative Russian journal of literary criticism offering articles and transcripts of roundtable discussions dealing with issues of Russian and world literature, history and theory of literature.
The journal was founded in 1957, soon after the 20th Congress of the Communist party of the Soviet Union and the beginning of the era known as the "thaw" in USSR cultural life. It soon evolved into a major discussion platform for literary critics and scholars.
Coverage:1957-present.

Description:Global database containing tens of millions of bibliographic records on all subjects from 1000 A.D. to date, for all types of material catalogued by libraries, including books and digital resources, maps, musical scores, sound recordings, manuscripts, films, videos. No abstracts.
