| Description: | The electronic version of Biological Abstracts , the largest printed reference publication for life sciences information, and Biological Abstracts/RRM (Reports, Reviews, Meetings), the companion printed reference to books, meetings and research reviews. Approximately 6,500 life science journals, and over 2,000 international meetings, as well as review articles, books and monographs are monitored for inclusion. |

| Description: | The Columbia Gazetteer of the World Online contains over 170,000 articles or entries on all types of places throughout the world; both physical places and political entities. |
Compendex

| Description: | The database of Engineering Index, providing coverage of the world's significant engineering and technological literature including journals, books, technical reports and conference proceedings. |

Digimap
| Access information: | Available from EDINA (Choose Login via UK federation) Users are required to register with Digimap the first time of use. Follow instructions provided. |
| Description: | Digimap is an EDINA service that delivers Ordnance Survey Map Data to UK Higher Education. Data is available either to download to use with appropriate application software such as GIS or CAD, or as maps generated by Digimap online. Digimap allows users to view and print maps of any location in Great Britain at a series of predefined scales. |
Geology Digimap

| Description: | Part of the Digimap Collection of online mapping and data delivery facilities. Geological maps and data from the British Geological Survey. View maps, save them for printing and download the geological map data (scales ranging from 1:625,000 to 1:50,000) for use in geographical information systems. Complete coverage of Great Britain is available except for a few areas of Wales at the most detailed level. There is also access to the Lexicon of Named Rock Units which has details for many of the rocks found on the map. Guides and demonstrations are available. |

| Description: | Bibliographic information and abstracts of articles published from more than 10,000 journals. Covers chemistry (all aspects), chemical structures and patents, chemical engineering, biochemistry, biotechnology, genetics. Information on more than 50 million chemical substances. |
| Search by chemical structure or text. Full reaction searching allows you to specify reaction sites and map atoms in the reactants. Also, information on patents, chemical suppliers and regulations. Cited reference searching is possible. |

| Records added after 1952 contain in-depth and non-evaluative abstracts of journal articles. |
