Handbook of Latin American Studies

Description: A selective annotated bibliography of scholarly monographs, journal articles, conference papers, book chapters, and electronic resources dealing with Latin America.
The multidisciplinary Handbook, edited by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress, alternates annually between the social sciences and the humanities.
Disciplines covered include anthropology (including archaeology and ethnology), art, economics, electronic resources (beginning in 1995), geography, government and politics, history, international relations, literature, music, philosophy, and sociology.
Three language versions are available: English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Coverage:Continuously published since 1936.

Handbook of Translation Studies Online

Description:This full-text database offers peer-reviews articles on a large range of topics, traditions, and methods about translation and interpreting. First available from September 2010, it is expanded and revised annually.
Many items in the reference lists are hyperlinked to the Translation Studies Bibliography (TSB) which is also available to us through the Databases A-Z list.

HeinOnline

Description: Full text legal journals, includes all U.S Treaties and Agreements, and published U.S. Supreme Court decisions. Over 15 million pages of image-based, fully searchable material.

Helios

Access information:Access on and off campus.
Description:The Helios Plant Selector is an interactive plant database program which provides species lists, characteristics and photographs of over 14,000 plants in accordance with the National Plant Specification. Helios is a web-based service which can be accessed on the GoHelios website. You must login to the site by selecting login and entering the username and password when prompted. The University's subscription allows a limited number of simultaneous sessions, so there is a possibility that you may not be able to access Helios at busy times. Try again later in these circumstances.

Some articles by freelancers, some features and some supplements may not be available. The Herald and Sunday Herald are also available to consult on microfilm in the Main Library. The Herald’s sister title, The Evening Times is also available via LexisLibrary and Factiva.

The database covers over 2,600 journals published worldwide, providing an incomparable research tool for students and researchers of world history. The database provides indexing of historical articles in over 40 languages, published from 1955. Subjects include: history of education, military history, women's history and world history.

Description:A collaboration between Edinburgh University Library and the History of Art unit of the School of Arts, Culture and Environment, University of Edinburgh. Contains c. 3,000 images augmented by the 115,000 images available simultaneously from the AMICO Library.

House of Commons Parliamentary Papers

Description:The 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st Century House of Commons Parliamentary Papers contains bibliographic records and searchable full text for papers printed between 1688-2004. It also includes Hansard 1803-2005.
NB The collection does not include the House of Commons Journal, or daily business papers, such as Order papers and Votes and Proceedings, nor does it include Acts.
