GeNii - NII Academic Contents Portal

Access information:Available on and off campus from GeNii.
Description:Comprehensive Japanese online resource provided by the National Institute of Informatics in Japan. It includes four sub-databases covering indexes of books, journal articles, theses, as well as database repository for academic research. Access is free, except for the full texts of academic papers in CiNii.

Geology Digimap

Access information:Access on and off-campus. Choose Login via UK federation.
Description: Part of the Digimap Collection of online mapping and data delivery facilities. Geological maps and data from the British Geological Survey. View maps, save them for printing and download the geological map data (scales ranging from 1:625,000 to 1:50,000) for use in geographical information systems. Complete coverage of Great Britain is available except for a few areas of Wales at the most detailed level. There is also access to the Lexicon of Named Rock Units which has details for many of the rocks found on the map. Guides and demonstrations are available.

GeoRef

Description:Produced by the American Geosciences Institute, this comprehensive geosciences database contains 3.4 million bibliographic records to the geosciences literature. Over 3,500 journals are reviewed for indexing in the GeoRef database as well as books, maps, government reports, conference papers, theses and dissertations.

German Literary Expressionism Online

Description: The German Literary Expressionism Online database gives access to 149 journals, yearbooks, collections and anthologies from the early 20th century, many in full text. The journals, yearbooks and anthologies of literary expressionism serve not only as sources on German literature of the Modern era, but can also be used for the study of the history of art, theatre, film, dance and music between 1910 and 1930.

Description:Covers human health and disease, including communicable diseases, tropical diseases, parasitic diseases and parasitology, nutrition, community and public health, and medicinal and poisonous plants., from more than 16,000 journals as well as books and grey literature (dissertations, conferences, patents, standards, annual reports, etc.) from more than 130 countries.

Description:This collection documents a broad range of nineteenth century missionary activities, practices and thought by reproducing personal narratives, organizational records, and biographies. While focusing on the United States the collection also highlights activities in Africa, Fiji and Sandwich Islands, India, China, Southeast Asia, Japan, and Hawaii.
Images are taken from microfilm originals of early printed works.

Le Grand Robert & Collins

Description:Online version of one of the most comprehensive bilingual dictionaries between English and French. It contains over 50,000 words and expressions giving access to over one million translations. It also includes a large number of compound words and abbreviations which are not available in the printed edition.
