Volunteers and Interns are an important part of the CRC and contribute a great deal towards our overall success.
A variety of roles are available working on a range of projects and tasks, and we welcome enquiries from anyone interested in volunteering with us.
We also take placements and interns from a number of academic courses.

I have been cataloguing Norman Dott’s case files which was a whole new concept to me as I had never dealt with patient records before. My whole experience has been so captivating and beneficial; it has provided me with such valuable skills, especially for archival work in the future.
Volunteer on the Norman Dott Project since March 2013
During the 10 weeks I have been working on a project to conserve and re-house items from a collection of letters, legal documents and title deeds relating to the Royal Edinburgh Infirmary. I have had an amazing time here at the University and have learnt so much! I really feel like a part of the team.
Taking on volunteers and interns is a chance for experienced people with developed careers to pass on the knowledge and experience that university studies alone cannot give.
