Using the Research Suite
The CRC Research Suite is not just a practical working space, but a space to meet and drive forward new ideas and partnerships based on the CRC collections and resources.
Uses of the Research Suite
- You can use it as a general reading space, especially to consult reference material either held in the Research Suite itself or drawn from the adjacent Research Support Collection.
- You can consult theses issued by CRC staff.
- You can access useful digital resources, finding aids and microform surrogates using a variety of high specification equipment.
- You can talk informally with other academic colleagues and/or CRC staff; for example, about the possibility of new courses or research projects. CRC staff are always keen to discuss partnership possibilities of various sorts including internships, facilities for visiting scholars, teaching initiatives based on the collections or joint research project bids. An informal lounge is situated just off the main Research Suite room for this purpose.
- The Research Suite can also be used as a space to introduce small groups of students generally to the CRC and the collections it contains, or hold small scale seminars and meetings with other academic colleagues or CRC staff. Academic staff can book the well-equipped meeting/seminar room opening off the main Research Suite room especially for this purpose.
