The CRC offers a range of copying services for its readers, including digital imaging and printing from microfilm. Although not carried out in-house, we can also accept orders for microfilming. Please note that for preservation reasons we do not photocopy any collections material.
All photography of material in our collections must normally be carried out by library staff. The use of digital cameras by CRC readers is permitted in the CRC Reading Room subject to permission being granted by CRC staff.
Requests for copying should be made by filling in the appropriate form. Staff will be happy to give advice if required.
The User Services Librarian reserves the right to refuse the copying of an item due to its physical condition, or where copying would be an infringement of current copyright law.
Payment for orders must be made in advance. Please check our price list for details. Payment can be made by cash or credit /debit card (except Diners and American Express). Prices quoted are exclusive of VAT. No VAT will be added for staff and students of Edinburgh University (provided they supply their Staff or Matriculation number), countries outside the EU or customers within the EU who have a valid VAT registration number. Staff and students of Edinburgh University qualify for a 20% discount on all orders processed by our Digital Imaging staff. Please contact CRC staff for a quotation for thesis photocopying. Postage and packing will be charged on all postal orders.
Orders will be dealt with promptly, but readers should allow 20 working days. Microfilming is outsourced and may take longer. Express orders will incur a surcharge of £25.
Readers wishing to reproduce an image /images from our collections must first request permission from the User Services Librarian.
Electronic delivery of images may be available: please ask staff. Secure File Transfer and Virtual Data Room services are provided by ShareFile.
