Affected Services during the disruptions

NOTE: The information detailed below is our current expectation of the services affected by the outage. Please check our Service Alerts page over the course of the weekend for up to date information on service availability.

Networked data storageThere will be no access to personal or shared storage. This includes access to storage from home via the VPN service. Note: some Schools provide their own file storage which may not be affected by this outage.
Networked printersNo network printing
Corporate IT servicesMost Corporate IT systems will not be operational. This includes Finance, HR and EBIS. The exceptions are listed in the next section
MyEdThe MyEd portal will be unavailable. However the MyEd home page will provide links to key services available during the weekend disruptions.
Web site hostingVirtually all web sites that are not part of the main University website are affected by this outage. This will also affect any content such as documents or mini applications that are linked into the main University web site. Web sites that are not affected are those hosted on the servers webhost1.is, morse, mcnutt, marzipan, caramel and praline
ApplicationsSeveral of the applications provided on staff computers won’t be available. These are listed below. Additionally, any personalisation you have made to the applications on staff computers will not be applied. Maple, ASReml, AutoCAD 2006, Splus, SPSS, SPSS Commute Licence, Sibelius 5, EViews, Unisim, Zoo (Rhino3d & Flamingo), SolidWorks 2009. Other applications may be impacted by the outage that we cannot predict at this stage & all desktop applications may suffer from reduced performance speed.
Library Circulation & Catalogue (OPAC)Partially available: The Library Catalogue(OPAC) will be available. It will be read only so will not provide item status information. You will be able to borrow books where staff are available at desks but you will not be able to use the self issue or renew your books online.
