Configure iOS (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) for secure wireless access
The following instructions will enable you to connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to eduroam, the secure wireless network.
Configuration instructions
Turn on the wireless on your device by touching "Settings" then "Wi-Fi". You should see a list of the available wireless networks.
Select "eduroam".
Enter your username as your UUN plus "@ed.ac.uk", e.g. "s10987654@ed.ac.uk".
Enter the password which you specified when you registered for the Wireless service.
You will be asked to trust a UTN-USERFirst-Hardware certificate for either "archer.ucs.ed.ac.uk" or "ispy-at.ucs.ed.ac.uk". The UTN-USERFirst-Hardware certificate is signed by AddTrust External CA Root.
Touch "Accept" to trust this certificate.
You will be returned to your device's "Wi-Fi Networks" screen.
A tick beside "eduroam" should show that you are now connected to the secure wireless network.
To disconnect from the eduroam wireless network, from the "Home" screen touch "Settings" then "Wi-Fi", then turn the wireless networking "Off".
