Personal copies of some software can be purchased through the University by staff and students.
Check the Main Deals or What Software is Available links below to see if the software you want can be ordered through IS. Sometimes personal copies have to be bought direct from the publisher or other external website.
A selection of software can be bought using the online ordering system at the University, ePay. At the moment, you can order ArcGIS desktop, JMP, Minitab, NVivo or SPSS.
You can purchase certain software in person at the IS Helpdesk on the ground floor of the Main Library in George Square. Disks for the current supported versions of Nvivo and SPSS are available there and other versions can be ordered.

If you are ordering from IS directly, you should include the following essential information. The processing of your order maybe delayed until we get these details.
You must enclose payment with your order. Cheques should be made payable to "The University of Edinburgh".
If you are using the IS Personal Purchase order form, please send it with your cheque to: IS Helpdesk, The University of Edinburgh, Main Library Building, George Square, Edinburgh, EH8 9LJ.
Staff or postgraduate Students can opt to have the software delivered to their school/department. Undergraduates can collect software from one of the library helpdesks.
Delivery is possible to a UK home address but it will delay delivery. We cannot deliver outwith the UK but will pass the software to your school/department to post on.
The estimated delivery time for most orders is around two to three weeks, depending on where the item is coming from.
