If you wish to enable full disk encryption on a Windows laptop we recommend you use the Bitlocker encryption service that comes as part of the operating system.
To enable this please follow these instructions.
Please ensure that you have all important data backed up before running this process. You may also wish to backup any personal data (such as photographs) as Bitlocker peforms a full disk encryption.

Bitlocker encryption is not fully backward compatible with Windows XP Professional. Where backwards compatibility is required we recommend using TrueCrypt.
