Please read these notes through carefully before you begin.
Remember to check current version so you follow the appropriate set of instructions.
These instructions do not apply to machines using the University Managed desktop.
If you are unsure if you have a University Managed desktop system please contact the IS Helpline on 515151.
The new license for Kaspersky anti-virus will expire in May 2014.
You will need to download a new license key for Kaspersky to continue to be protected from Malware.
Hover your mouse over the Kaspersky icon in the notification area (bottom right corner) and wait for the version information to be displayed.
If you have version 6.0.4.xxxx then procede to step 2 below to download the license key file.
If you do not have version 6.0.4.xxxx then you must uninstall your current version of Kaspersky (through the control panel) then download and install the latest version from:
We recommend that you do not surf the internet whilst you have no anti-virus protection (except to download a new version of Kaspersky).
You must read and accept the terms of Kaspersky’s license agreement before downloading.
Choose the save option after clicking the download button.
1. Double click the Kaspersky icon in the notification area of the windows taskbar.
2. In the Kaspersky Anti-Virus window that opens click the License tab then click the Add/Delete button.

3. In the Application activation window that opens select Activate using the key file then click Next.

4. Click Browse and navigate to the desktop (or wherever you downloaded the key file to), select the 16AA6DDD licence key file then click Open, then click Next.
Check the expiration date to verify the licence has installed correctly then click Finish.
