Uninstalling Kaspersky anti-virus software
Before installing Microsoft Security Essentials, you will need to uninstall the current antivirus program that is on your computer.
If your computer has the University's previous Kaspersky Antivirus on it, please follow instructions at the link below:
If, however, your computer has an anti-virus program other than Kaspersky, follow these more generic instructions to assist you with its removal:

Using a specialised removal tool
Some anti-virus programs will not completely uninstall following the instructions above. If this happens we recommended you download and run a removal tool to ensure that all anti-virus remnants are removed.
