SAN services
Information Services provides two University Storage Area Networks (SANs), both of which provide different tiers of storage with different performance characteristics.
A Storage Area Network (SAN) is like a data network except that it connects storage arrays of disks and tape devices together rather than computers. IS manages two SANs both for research and for general computing facilities.
Infrastructure SAN
Choose the Infrastructure SAN for all types of use by the whole University community.
Edinburgh Compute and Data Facility SAN
Choose the ECDF SAN for grant funded research projects.
