Information Services provides a number of file and disk storage services. These include file servers, file backup, long-term archive and ftp services. Some of these services are provided by Storage Area Networks (SANs).
A Storage Area Network (SAN) is like a data network except that it connects storage arrays of disks and tape devices together rather than computers.
The Information Services file backup facilities ensure that data can be recovered in case of data loss either through accidental deletion or a disaster.
We provide an anonymous FTP service to allow people to exchange files with others both inside and outside the University.
