EASE is the University of Edinburgh's web login service, which provides access to a number of web-enabled applications and resources. Once you login to EASE you can have access to these resources for up to 16 hours without having to login again.
Members of the University, student applicants, alumni and official visitors to the University are all entitled to an EASE account and will be issued with their University Username (UUN) and a one-time use registration password enabling them to setup their EASE account with a password of their own choosing.
Friend accounts have access to a limited set of web resources at the University. For example, courses provided by the Office of Lifelong Learning can be booked and paid for using an EASE Friend account.
An EASE Friend account can be created by anyone with a non-university email address. A self-service facility is provided for people to register their own account password.
Registered university staff and students can invite people using the EASE Friend invitation system to generate a request that is emailed to the person with a link to setup their EASE Friend account.
