Using telephone handsets

A variety of different telephone handsets are in use around the University, each offering different facilities and each working in a slightly different way.

There are two types of handset:

basic analogue handset image small

Standard analogue handset

This handset (or a similar, older model) is the most common telephone handset on the University’s telephone system.

DT series VoIP handset

The most recent VoIP telephone handset. Most new handsets will be of this type.

DTerm series VoIP handset

A slightly older style of VoIP telephone handset, similar to the DT series.

Ergoline analogue handset

This analogue handset provides additional facilities for people who use the phone a lot.

This is a cordless VoIP telephone handset, usable only in certain locations in the University.
