The Enriching our Musical Heritage project (2008-13) is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund under the Collecting Cultures scheme. The project is funding the acquisition of British bagpipes, improving curatorial skills, fostering research and increasing public involvement with the collections. The aim of increasing public involvement with museum collections will be initially met through the exhibition The Piper's Whimand associated events in August 2013, and will continue after the formal end of the project.
The Audience Development project is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Museums Galleries Scotland, the Friends of St Cecilia's Hall and Museum, and the Sir Nicholas Shackleton Fund. In this project EUCHMI is promoting, expanding, developing and delivering public engagement and lifelong learning programmes, educational materials and online resources; investigating and implementing strategies to develop existing audiences; cementing existing partnerships and developing new strategies for working with new partners and audiences; managing and developing the learning & access volunteer team.
