Description: Agricultural Census data for England, Scotland and Wales downloadable or visualised as grid square estimates at 2km, 5km and 10km level of resolution.

Maps can be viewed, annotated and printed, and data can be downloaded for use in GIS or CAD software.

Description: Data from 500 international health care journals held by the British Library supplemented by relevant records from Medline. Subjects covered include: acupuncture, homeopathy, palliative care, occupational therapy and holistic treatments.

BSAVA Library

Description: The British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) publishes resources covering small animal clinical practice. The BSAVA Library is much more than a collection of their manuals - it provides a resource enabling users to discover the content, including book chapters, hundreds of hours of lecture recordings from the annual Congress, articles from Companion, drug dosages from the BSAVA Small Animal Formulary and much more, in one place. The BSAVA Library provides online access to  BSAVA’s publications at the granularity of chapter, article, drug entry, client leaflet, congress lecture summary etc.  A search will show everything that is relevant to your enquiry – whether from a manual, a Companion article or a Congress lecture.

 

CAB Abstracts

Access information:

Access on and off campus. Due to a current technical problem with the CAB Abstracts database, any searches performed from 1 February 2024 onwards are unreliable and incomplete, returning fewer results than expected. Ovid have identified the cause of this issue and are working to resolve it as soon as possible. The work is expected to be complete by Monday 8 April 2024.

Description: Contains over 180,000 titles (200,000 volumes) published during the 18th Century, covering a range of subjects including history, literature, religion, law, fine arts, and science. Description: Plumb's Veterinary Drugs is a highly trusted veterinary drug resource providing access to up-to-date veterinary drug information. It includes information on dose, dosage forms, drug interactions and adverse effects.  There is also information about pharmacokinetics, and storage/stability.

Difficult to find publications in one place, built around a directory of over 21,000 policy organisations. Provides access to 2.4 million books, articles, working papers, reports, policy briefs, data sets, tables, charts, media, case studies, and statistical publications from organisations including inter-governmental organisations, non-governmental organisations, think-tanks and other research centres.

The search interface also enables searching for tables within reports.

Registered users can receive alerts of material added to the database.

Stockley’s Interactions Checker allows an unlimited number of drugs to be searched at the same time and provides clear ratings on action, severity and evidence per interaction.  It searches and links to Stockley’s Drug Interactions, providing the guidance required to safely manage the selection of drugs.

Description: VetMed Resource includes CAB Abstracts bibliographic database covering over 3000 veterinary and bioscience journals, full text proceedings from major conferences worldwide, 'in brief and in depth' news articles on recent interest topics, specially commissioned and peer-reviewed review articles and 'Ask a CABI expert' which helps users search for the information they need. There's also access to CABI's Animal Health and Production Compendium which has information on animal diseases, their pathogens and vectors, genetics and nutrition of livestock and poultry species and breeds, an international drugs database, food safety etc. There are over 2000 images which can also be used for teaching and demos.

 

Vetstream Vetlexicon

Description:

Vetstream’s Vetlexicon Canis, Felis, Lapis, Exotis, Equis and Bovis (dogs, cats, rabbits, exotics, horses and cattle) services are subscription based online encyclopaedias of point-of-care clinical veterinary information.  The content is provided by 900 of the world's leading veterinary clinicians and includes more than 19,000 peer reviewed articles on diseases and their pathogens, diagnostic tests, medical and surgical treatments as well as breeds and owner factsheets and images, videos and heart sounds.  The content is categorised into 30 body systems and disciplines and cross-linked to each other. This allows the veterinarian to move between all the relevant information relating to a particular case, enabling them to diagnose, treat and effectively communicate all the relevant information to the owner.  Updated weekly.

Description: Zoological Record is the world's oldest continuing database of animal biology. Records cover every aspect of zoology, including biochemistry, behaviour, ecology evolution, genetics, biodiversity and veterinary sciences. It indexes over 4,500 international serials plus other publications including monographs, books, reviews, and conference proceedings.
