Information Services

Availability and entitlement

Describes who can use Moodle, how to request a course and how to access as staff and students.

The Moodle service is available for Online Distance Learning (ODL) courses only and not on-campus courses.

Moodle is currently not integrated with the University's central student information systems and is manually populated with courses and users.

If any ODL course team is interested in the Moodle service and would like to discuss their requirements, then please contact the IS Helpline.

Staff access to Moodle courses

Access to Moodle is not universal across the University. Staff members on online distance learning programmes interested in using Moodle should contact the IS Helpline. Staff members will be added to Moodle using their University username and they will then be able to log in via EASE.

Please contact the IS Helpline with your University username and your course name(s) for access. Please note that a check will be made that users are entitled to access courses before they are added to their profile.

Getting a Moodle course

A Moodle course will be created when requested based on the EUCLID course code and title. Please contact the IS Helpline with your course code and title. Please note that a check will be made that the course is for an ODL programme. Prospective users can be given a playground course initially to allow them to evaluate Moodle and its features.

Student access to Moodle

All students requiring access to Moodle will be able to log in via EASE once they have been added.

If you think you should have access to Moodle, but cannot log in, then please contact us:
