The fault finding service for private funded networks is to be charged at £191 plus VAT per half day or part thereof.

For unfunded units it is proposed to charge a retainer to be on-call for this service, to be negotiated with the organisation.

Where the network has been "illegally" altered or extended, the department will be charged for IS technicians' time when called out to fix faults, both for fixing the fault and for restoring the network to its proper state.

We regret that a few departments have caused this step to be introduced and as they are taking the technicians away from other work, the time will be charged at overtime rates so that other work can be caught up at weekends.
