Getting help with mailing lists

If your questions haven't been answered by the documentation, then you can get more help with requesting, configuring and subscribing to mailing lists by contacting the IS Helpline or a list owner.

Contacting the owner(s) of a mailing list

 

All mailing lists have at least one owner. You may want to contact a list owner to subscribe to a list or make a complaint or request something be changed on the list.

You can contact the owner of any mailing list by sending a mail message to the list's associated request address. 

The request address is created by appending "-request" to the right hand side of the list name before the @mlist.is.ed.ac.uk.

For example, a mailing list called "a-list@mlist.is.ed.ac.uk" has a -request address of "a-list-request@mlist.is.ed.ac.uk".
