United Kingdom - 2011 Census data
In the UK, since 1801, the Census has collected information on the population every 10 years, with the exception of 1941 due to the Second World War. Recently, the first set of data from the 2011 Census has been made available.

Research Data MANTRA evaluation
The Data Library has published a report on the findings of an evaluation of the Research Data MANTRA project, which as part of the JISC Managing Research Data Programme (2010-11) created an online course for University PhD students and early career researchers to learn better data management practice.

Open Repositories 2012: an international gathering
In July 2012 the University of Edinburgh hosted the Seventh International Conference on Open Repositories (OR2012). Open Repositories is an annual gathering of scholarly communications librarians, software developers, institutional repository managers, and practitioners engaged in the creation, implementation, and improvement of digital repositories for scholarly research outputs and cultural heritage materials.

New resource - EU statistics dataset
