The web-based tutorial, which teaches internet research skills, is in its fourth edition (2010). Anne Donnelly is the current author, Robin Rice is the original author, both from the Data Library.
The tutorial has four main sections:
Students can use the tutorial for self-directed, learning, and lecturers and librarians can list it as a resource in course handbooks, Virtual Learning Environments such as WebCT and websites to support courses in research methods, information literacy and study skills.
This is just one of over 60 tutorials in the Virtual Training Suite, a national service authored by UK lecturers and librarians, managed by Intute, based at the University of Manchester.
