Salary Forecasting Project Completed
A project to redevelop and enhance the University’s Salary Forecasting and Starters & Leavers application has been successfully completed.
The Salary Forecasting application is widely used by University Finance departments, to assess future salary costs.
The University’s previous Salary Forecasting system was developed in 1999, and its technology was no longer supported by the provider. This project sought to upgrade the application to supported technology, and at the same time to incorporate a number of system enhancements. A team of IS Applications, Finance and College & IS Finance staff have worked together to create the replacement system.
The project has delivered:
- New combined Salary Forecasting and Starters & Leavers application, built using supported development tools, and EASE-enabled through MyEd.
- Application enhancements to support administrative functionality, e.g. manage users, maintain parameter tables.
- Improved forecasting calculations, for current year + 5 years, for both Salary Forecasting and Starters & Leavers.
- Improved WebFirst reporting functionality, to include known leavers.
- Migration of historical data into the new database.
- Decommissioning of the old Forecasting and Starters & Leavers database and applications.
