Moodle VLE Service now Live

Moodle, the University of Edinburgh's centrally supported virtual learning environment for online distance learning programmes, is now live.

The Distance Education Initiative (DEI) has funded the service, which has been specifically designed for online distance learning (ODL) in the University.

The online distance learning (ODL) programmes that have elected to use Moodle this year are:

Over the next few months staff on these programmes will build their courses. IS Skills will be providing training workshops in May to support this activity as well as self-help materials.

The first use of Moodle by students will be in July 2012 as part of the RISE programme summer school on "Research-Informed Science Education" and the MSc in eLearning programme summer school on "Academic Writing". The main use of Moodle by enrolled students will begin from the start of the academic year 2012/13.
