Essential Maintenance on 10th April

Due to essential maintenance of several University of Edinburgh Servers the following service changes will take place between 17:00 and 21:00 with an at risk period from 21:00 to 23:00 on Tuesday 10th April.

For students

Available

• Login to supported desktop using a local profile - no personal customisation will be available as the profile server is down. Save documents locally on a pen drive or external storage.
• Access to e-mail, calendar and internet.

Unavailable

• No network drives will be available.
• No printing will be available in the public labs.
• No photocopying will be available.
• No print credit will be available.
• No Active Directory password reset will be available.
• The following applications will be unavailable: Maple 14, SPSS 18 & 19, Quark (CAM), VSN, AutoCad Master Suite, Virtual Environment, Minitab 16(win 7), Sketchup Pro, Solid Works, Minitab 16(win 7), Vray, Rhino, Trados, UnisimOn.

For staff in CSG & SASG & staff on Windows 7 Supported Desktop

Available

• Login to supported desktop using a local profile - some personal customisation will be unavailable as the profile server is down.
• Access to e-mail, calendar and internet.
• Access to networked drives including home and shared spaces.
• Local printing. Printers physically attached to your PC or Mac will continue to work.

Unavailable

• No networked printing will be available.
• No Active Directory password reset will be available.
• The following applications will be unavailable: Maple 14, SPSS 18 & 19, Quark (CAM), VSN, AutoCad Master Suite, Virtual Environment, Minitab 16(win 7), Sketchup Pro, Solid Works, Minitab 16(win 7), Vray, Rhino, Trados, UnisimOn.

For staff on XP Supported desktop, non-supported desktop or Mac either supported or non-supported

• Login to supported desktop using roaming or local profile.
• Access to e-mail, calendar and internet.
• Access to networked drives including home and shared spaces.
• Local printing. Printers physically attached to your PC or Mac will continue to work.

Unavailable

• No networked printing will be available.
• No Active Directory password reset will be available.
