For those students whose performance is outstanding, there are extended opportunities for acquiring new skills, research experience and work experience.
Students are paid to take work on current research projects, and given the opportunity to produce publications.
Each year Sun Microsystems recruits some of our best students for a one year long work placement at various Sun laboratories. This scheme is open to students who have completed their 3rd year of study.
As well as funding two Informatics scholarships, IBM selects a number of students for summer placements.
The Schools has a Student Prize Scheme which aims to recognize and reward outstanding performance. Prizes are sponsored by the School, by professional organizations such as the British Computer Society, and by IT companies.
