This month Vittorio Ferrari joins the Informatics academic staff. Vittorio's current research interests are in computer vision, with focus on learning visual models with minimal human supervision. He is particularly keen on applications in object class detection, image segmentation and human pose estimation. In the past he has worked on several other computer vision problems, including visual attributes, shape matching, contour models, specific object recognition, wide-baseline stereo and tracking in video. Before moving to Edinburgh, Vittorio worked at ETH Zurich, where he was leading the CALVIN research group.
