Each of our subject areas has a lively and welcoming society run by current undergraduate students.

The Archaeology Society meets every Tuesday, usually after one of their regular talks by guest speakers. The society also organises trips to areas of archaeological interest around Edinburgh, films nights and other events. The Classics Society puts on a range of events throughout the year, both social and academic. Social events range from the annual Classics play and the Symposium in the Park to more informal fancy-dress events or simply donning a toga and heading to the pub…
A large and active group, The History Society hosts internationally renowned lecturers, provides study advice and publishes the award-winning journal Retrospect. Social events include film and quiz nights, themed pub crawls, trips to historical sites across Edinburgh and Scotland, a Winter Ball and even a football team, ‘You’re History FC’.
