Medieval Fife - Coach Trip - FULLY BOOKED

A tour of Fife, the heart of the administrative, religious and cultural life of medieval Scotland. Places visited will include Falkland, St Andrews and Aberdour.

St Andrews Castle

The medieval Kingdom of Fife lay at the heart of Scotland’s administrative, religious and cultural life. Today a number of significant sites and architectural remains bear witness to its rich past.

Participants will visit:

  • Falkland - 16th-century Renaissance palace and village significant for the preservation of its old houses along narrow streets.
  • St Andrews - the ruins of the great cathedral, the castle and early buildings of the university, founded in 1413.
  • Aberdour Castle - built around 1200 and developed into a mansion house between the fifteenth and the seventeenth centuries (no tour).

Audience: HCA students, priority given to students on Medieval and Scottish pre-honours History courses

Additional information: You will need to bring or buy your own lunch. Please be aware part of this event will take place outside. Please dress warmly and wear sensible shoes.
