Dionysia: Battle of the Theatre Societies

Enjoy theatre? The ancient world? Then come along to see the Dionysia! The Dionysia is an ancient Greek tradition, revived for the second year running by the Edinburgh Classics Society and hosted by Bedlam Theatre.

A number of Edinburgh-based theatre societies come together to perform either the ancient plays themselves in their pure form (masks, chorus and all) or adapted versions of them, or even just performances with a classical/ancient theme or story. All the societies compete for a small prize and a great deal of glory! Last year was a great success, all the performances were of a great standard and we look forward to seeing the range of things on offer this year!

The performances will take place over two days - Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of February. Also this year the Edinburgh Classics Society will be hosting a magnificent ancient feast for after the performances, which is definitely not one to miss! So come along to one or two performances or see the lot! It is guaranteed to be an exciting weekend so be sure not to miss out!
