Exploring Aspects of the Heritage Industry and Heritage Conservation Crafts

Abbotsford House

Participants will be visiting two connected heritage sites in close geographical proximity, Abbotsford House, home of Sir Walter Scott and now run by the recently formed Abbotsford House Trust and Melrose Abbey, a medieval ruin managed by Historic Scotland.

Audience: Students and staff, priority given to 'Heritage in Britain since 1750' course members.

Additional information: Lunch will be provided. Please note that this event is off-campus and some of it is outside. Please take extra care when walking on uneven ground and wear sensible shoes and warm clothes.
