Global Migrations of the Scottish People

This conference on the global migrations of the Scottish people is the most ambitious ever organised on the subject and is certain to be an outstanding feature of the 2014 Homecoming celebrations.

Aims

The aim of the conference is to present fascinating 'state of the art' research on the Scottish diaspora in a form geared to a general audience while still maintaining the highest academic standards.

  • presentations on topics as varied as the impact of the diaspora on the homeland; Scottish settlers and indigenous peoples; 'New Scots' of Europe; the global intellectual influence of Scottish migration; the diaspora's perspectives on Scotland today; and much more
