Project Title

Echoes of silence - an autoethnographic study on the transgenerational transmission of trauma

Project details

My research interests developed through my Master dissertation - On unfolding and refolding an experience: greed, yearning, Heimat. It lead me to poststructuralist epistemology and feminist theory, particularly in relation to language and subjectivity. My autoethnographic study is contextually underpinned through growing up in Germany in the immediate aftermath of World War II with its residual trauma. This is set against my experiences as single child in the shadow of multiple maternal still-births.

My supervisors are Professor Liz Bondi and Judith Fewell
