Project Title

'Professional Identity of the Qualified Midwife in the Mainland of China'

Project details

My research interest is on self-perceived professional identity of the qualified midwife in the Mainland of China. This qualitative study focuses on interpreting how midwives define their professional identity through interaction with others and within their working context.

The findings are expected to contribute to the growing body of knowledge on how midwives conceptualise their professional identity, which could help clarify the ambiguity within the profession and further enhance midwives’ efficacy and willingness to cope with the external barriers inhibiting midwifery development.
