Course description

The motivation behind the student choosing this course is the clear application of the theoretical course to the student’s own area of clinical practice.

The student, with the support of the academic advisor and the course organiser, will identify a specific work-based clinical area in which the principles and practices of professional and personal development can be explored.

Course aims

To enable practitioners to develop their understanding of educational practices and its applications within nursing and health care.

Teaching and learning methods

This course enables those who have an interest in education and information technology to develop a critical awareness of its application in practice. This will be achieved by providing students with the opportunity to conduct a project in an appropriate work based setting.

At the heart of the course is the work based/related learning contract drawn up between the personal academic advisor and the student. The learning contract will be designed to enable the student to develop a critical understanding of specified areas of educational practice. Guidance for the development of a learning contract will be provided.
